Learn About Outdoor & Adventure Synthetic Marijuana Addiction Treatment & Rehab

Synthetic marijuana is a relatively new designer drug that has recently become one of the more hazardous drugs available on the market today. Often called spice or K2 and sold as incense or potpourri, this drug is made up of a mixture of various herbs which are then sprayed with an assortment of chemicals in order to mimic the high associated with traditional marijuana. However, K2 is about 100 times more powerful than traditional marijuana, and because of the variety of substances used to make this product users can never be sure exactly what chemicals they are ingesting.  If you are struggling with a synthetic marijuana abuse problem and are having a hard time quitting, call the staff at Four Circles. Our compassionate, dedicated staff can help you get your life back on track.

Four Circles Recovery Center is a leading outcomes-driven wilderness-based treatment center specifically designed for men and women, 18 to 30 years of age, who are struggling with synthetic marijuana abuse. We offer an innovative approach to rehab that integrates an adventure-based wilderness experience with professional clinical care and therapeutic programming. Our approach to treatment creates the foundation for sustained recovery and life changing experiences for young adults facing the challenges of addiction, substance abuse, and co-occurring emotional or behavioral issues that may have sabotaged their success.

Helping a Loved One

Helping a Loved One Get Synthetic Marijuana Addiction Treatment

No one wants to learn that someone they love is abusing synthetic marijuana. Not only can it be extremely upsetting and worrisome, but it can also be very difficult to get your loved one the treatment he or she needs. However, no matter how hard it may be it is essential that you talk to your loved one about his or her drug abuse because ultimately you can end up saving his or her life. Here are three steps you can take to help your loved one overcome their addiction:

  • Step one: Educate yourself about addiction. Learn everything you can about synthetic marijuana, including the possible effects and available treatment options.
  • Step two: Talk to your loved one about your concerns. Start the conversation from a place of compassion and be sure not to judge or minimize your loved one’s feelings.
  • Step three: Explore rehab options so that you can help your loved one find an addiction treatment center that will be most appropriate for his or her specific needs. Once you have gathered this information present it to your loved one and together you can determine which treatment option is best.
Why Choose Us?

Why Consider Synthetic Marijuana Addiction Rehab at Four Circles Recovery Center

Synthetic marijuana is a relatively new drug and as such much is not known about all of the long-term consequences that could result from abuse of this drug. However, it has been reported that abuse of this dangerous substance has been known to cause the immediate onset of psychosis, confusion, disorientation, and paranoia. Additionally, some individuals who abused this drug have been hospitalized with dangerously high body temperature, seizures, reduced blood supply to the heart, and extreme agitation. Not only are the health risks associated with abusing this very dangerous, the social and emotional consequences can be equally detrimental. For example, those who abuse synthetic marijuana often begin to perform poorly at work, isolate themselves from family and friends, and stop participating in things they used to enjoy.

Types of Treatment

Types of Synthetic Marijuana Addiction Treatment Offered at our Outdoor Addiction Treatment Center

At our wilderness treatment center, the rehab model is designed to engage clients by immersing them in the natural world where they are inspired to cultivate self-reliance by being faced with compassionate yet uncompromising accountability. This model allows clients to reap the benefits of a therapeutic wilderness program while offering the opportunity to practice skills learned in real world settings. Finally, all treatment provided at Four Circles is gender-specific, with separate programs designed to meet the specific needs of both male and female clients.

The young men and women at our treatment center go on wilderness expeditions that usually last from a week to ten days, and then return to our home base where they will continue to work on the recovery process for their synthetic marijuana addictions. Program participants will remain on campus for about three or four days, during which time they will begin to connect with the community through meetings, service projects, and participation in adventure-based therapeutic groups, before heading out on their next wilderness expedition.

Rehab at Four Circles consists of four levels, each of which has a number of specific guidelines and assignments for clients to complete in order to move through the level system. We use a variety of clinical and holistic approaches that allows us to meet each client’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs while also helping them to establish a strong foundation for sustained recovery. The following are among the many treatment methods employed at our center in the treatment of synthetic marijuana abuse and addiction:

Medication management: It is very common for individuals with synthetic marijuana abuse or addiction to also be struggling with a mental health disorder. Many times these co-occurring disorders will require the use of medication to help alleviate distressing symptoms during rehab. However, all medication needs for co-occurring mental health concerns are always decided on a case-by-case basis. For any client who requires medication management, Four Circles has a contracted psychiatrist and nurse practitioner, both of whom are available within 24 hours. Should a need arise, clients can be pulled from the field for an office visit.

Individual therapy: All clients at our treatment center will participate in individual therapy sessions on a weekly basis. Individual sessions allow clients personalized time with a therapist where they will be able to set achievable goals for their recovery, address specific concerns, and work through any distressing emotions surrounding their pain medication abuse.

Group therapy: Four Circles offers a number of group therapy sessions, including our nightly process groups with a para-professional wilderness guide and weekly process groups, which are conducted by a fully licensed therapist. Clients are also required to participate in a two-hour experiential challenge group on a weekly basis.

Family therapy: We firmly believe that family participation is an integral part of the treatment experience for those who are recovering from substance use disorders such as stimulant abuse. Families who have loved ones in rehab at our wilderness treatment center will receive ongoing coaching and therapeutic contact through weekly phone sessions with a primary therapist. Additionally, we hold a two-day onsite workshop for all family members to help them with the healing process.

Adventure trips: In order to help clients foster a spiritual connection to their recovery journey, Four Circles provides regularly schedule adventure-based counseling trips, which may include the following opportunities:

  • Kayaking
  • Whitewater rafting
  • Mountain biking
  • Rock Climbing
  • Fly Fishing

Additional therapeutic activities: In addition to participating in the therapeutic methods listed above, all clients also have the opportunity to utilize a variety of additional therapies, which are designed to help enhance the recovery process. These therapies may include:

  • Nutritional education
  • Martial arts
  • 12-step (AA and NA) meetings

Continuing Care

Continuing Care and Levels of Treatment for Synthetic Marijuana Addiction

Prior to completion of rehab at our treatment center, all clients will participate in a one-week healing ceremony where they will engage in solo experiences that will help them prepare for the future. Once this rite of passage ceremony is completed, clients will return to base camp where they will work on aftercare planning, develop a relapse prevention plan, and create a support system that will sustain the progress they have made. Since we understand that recovery is a lifelong process that extends beyond a client’s time at our treatment center, we work closely with each client, their families, and referral sources to create a detailed discharge and aftercare plan.

Our treatment center also offers a Sober Living Transition Program for adult males, ages 18 to 30, who are in the process of transitioning from a primary abuse treatment program into independent living. This program is at least 14 days in length and provides clients with a number of therapeutic methods including individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and medication management. Additionally, adventure- based trips are taken every weekend.

Finally, Four Circles offers a 28-day Relapse Prevention Program specifically for individuals who are in transitional living or have completed a primary treatment program that are in need of this additional level of care or have relapsed while in step-down care.

Whatever your substance abuse concerns may be the highly qualified, compassionate staff at our treatment center can help you overcome that addiction and be able to lay the foundation for a life of sobriety.
