Safety Standards
Four Circles Recovery Center considers your loved one’s safety to be of primary importance. As a member of the nation’s most comprehensive network of behavioral health programs for youth and young adults, Aspen Education Group, we proudly abide by the following safety guidelines:
- Hydration requirements - require clients to drink 4-6 quarts of water a day
- Additional precautions in inclement weather - field staff is aware of any changes in weather and adjusts the group’s agenda accordingly; if the temperature reaches 90 degrees in summer, the groups stop hiking; if the temperature dips below 0 degrees in winter, the groups move indoors
- Weather- and activity-appropriate clothing, gear and equipment
- Evacuation plans
- Staff safety training and drills - all head field guides are Wilderness First Responders which means they have received approximately 80 hours of advanced training in how to respond to emergency situations in wilderness settings
- Accessible communication - groups in the field are in daily contact with base via multiple forms of communication, including radio, cell, and satellite phones
- Additional licensed therapist working with guides at the residential program to provide support for guides and more clinical interaction with clients
- Multiple Certified Lifeguards and Canoe Instructors for adventure activities
- Multiple Certified Ropes Course facilitators during each Ropes course activity
- 24 hour on-call safety response team available at all times
