Four Circles was recently recognized by parent company, CRC Health Group, for their commitment to clinical excellence.
According to one of CRC’s Regional Vice Presidents, Joe Procopio, “This award was established to recognize programs which set the standard in terms of the delivery of care.”
CRC’s Phil Herschman noted several reasons for selecting Four Circles Recovery Center for this award.
“Four Circles truly blends the best of wilderness treatment with traditional substance abuse treatment, with an exceptional, evidence-based clinical program,” Phil said. “In addition, Four Circles is currently involved in a research project with preliminary results showing they are as effective as traditional residential treatment and possibly more effective for the young adult population.”
According to data, an astounding 95% of alumni parents would recommend Four Circles. Recent clinical improvements include a specialized relapse prevention program, a revised family program and the hiring of a Ph.D. as the base camp field leader to bring clinical supervision and skill to base camp staff and residents daily.
Four years after opening its doors, Four Circles Recovery Center has achieved a new level of clinical excellence in treating young men and women struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders.
Horse Shoe, N.C. (PRWEB) August 23, 2010 – Four years isn’t a long time, but for Four Circles Recovery Center, an innovative wilderness rehab program for young adults ages 18 to 28, four years is long enough to change the lives of hundreds of young people and their families.
By focusing specifically on the young adult population, Four Circles has achieved a level of specialization that has resulted in high retention rates and a proven record of success. Accredited by CARF, Four Circles utilizes rigorous clinical standards and research-backed therapies to reach young people struggling with addiction and dual diagnosis.
“In the past four years, Four Circles has become one of the most clinically advanced addiction treatment programs available,” said Jack Kline, MS, LPC, LCAS, NCC, the executive director at Four Circles. “We owe our strong outcomes to our highly trained, fully licensed clinical team, the power of the wilderness, and our unyielding commitment to our clients and their families.”
One of the newest developments at Four Circles is a specialized 21-day relapse prevention track for individuals who have completed treatment within the past 12 months and relapsed. The 21-day program is based on the Gorski-Cenaps ® model, a research-based approach that has proven highly effective in helping individuals break the relapse cycle. The therapists at Four Circles have received extensive training using the Gorski-Cenaps® model and are using it to help clients identify and manage high-risk situations that lead to relapse in the critical first months of recovery.
“Relapse is a part of the disease of addiction that is common but also preventable,” said Kline. “While some mistakenly view relapse as a failure, it is part of the learning process that leads to lasting recovery. The key for our clients is recognizing their relapse triggers and getting back into treatment before significant damage is done.”
As part of Four Circles’ unique hybrid model, clients get the best of wilderness therapy and traditional substance abuse counseling. In addition to individual and group therapy and daily 12-Step meetings, Four Circles’ clients participate in wilderness expeditions, a full adventure curriculum that includes rock climbing, fly fishing and canoeing, as well as an on-site ropes course. These interventions help clients overcome challenges, build confidence and re-discover the joy of living drug-free.
“We take a holistic approach to treating addiction and co-occurring disorders,” said Kline. “Our program is based on the ‘four circles’ that make each individual healthy and whole – mind, body, spirit and emotions.”
During wilderness rehab, clients participate in yoga, community service projects and life skills training to restore all of the aspects of their lives that have been ravaged by addiction. At the same time, their families receive education and support from the Four Circles staff in the form of a family workbook, family therapy and a two-day family workshop.
“Every year I am amazed at the way this program continues to grow and evolve alongside our clients,” said Kline. “We see a need and we meet it, and by doing so, we are able to continue the important work of saving lives.”
